The technician shortage that has been in effect for the last 5-10 years has created an incredible amount of leverage for those of us high skilled technicians that have stuck it out. Pay has increased due to supply and demand. It has also created competition amongst employers to offer high pay and benefit packages to retain the good technicians they already have. You can make a very good living in the automotive field with the right employer and the right skill set and work ethic.
