The biggest factor for me in this field for dissatisfaction is service on Saturday. I am not retail and I am not sales. I am skilled trade and like most other industries with skilled trade, should work Monday to Friday. A close second for dissatisfaction is warranty pay times. I have never seen a warranty time be increased in 20 years of Chrysler and Toyota dealer service but have seen plenty of times get cut. I am fortunate to work at a small dealer with a great service manager and am compensated fairly. We have a good mix of customer pay to offset the weak warranty times so that helps. The technician shortage problem started at the manufacturer level in my opinion though with always decreasing warranty flat rate times and the constant push for a 6 day work week that has finally started to wane since that 6 day model has chased more good technicians from this industry then they will ever admit too. It was then compounded by many dealers poor leadership and greed.
